The response
多くの国の自転車道が安全ではない、または質が低いというのは確かです。けれども、だからといって自転車道すなわち危険なもの、ということにはなりません。
安全で快適で移動効率のよい自転車道の設計手法は、オランダとデンマークを見れば分かります。世界で最も充実した自転車道ネットワークを持つこれらの国は、自転車利用の安全性でも他国を圧倒しています。
優れた自転車インフラは自転車と自動車の交錯を最小限に抑えます。また、どうしても交錯が発生する箇所は、両者がゆっくりとしたスピードで互いをしっかり視認でき、どのように行動すればよいか分かる設計になっています。
