The response
Benar memang bahwa keberadaan lajur sepeda di banyak negara membuat bersepeda jadi tidak aman. Tapi ini bukan berarti bahwa memang seperti itulah adanya. Ini hanyalah contoh kasus saja dampak dari lajur sepeda yang berkualitas rendah.
Agar lajur bersepeda ini aman, nyaman dan efisien, yang kita perlukan adalah melihat bagaimana infrastruktur ini dirancang di Belanda dan Denmark. Dua negara dengan kepadatan orang yang bersepeda paling tinggi, pemecah rekor keamanan bersepeda saat ini.
Infrastruktur bersepeda yang baik mengurangi interaksi dengan kendaraan bermotor sampai ke tingkat minimal, dan menjamin bahwa ketika interaksi terjadi, ini berlangsung dalam kecepatan rendah, dengan visibilitas dan kejelasan mengenai bagaimana orang-orang harus berprilaku.
